It’s the end of another great year of work in our community.

And we could not have done it without you.

This year, thanks to the support of generous donors, we were able to:

Feed the family of a tired father struggling to put food on the table

House a grandmother who felt like everyone had forgotten about her

Register a first-time voter so he can stand up for his values and his family

Help a young man experiencing homelessness learn to dream again—and then connect him with the job training he needs to start his new life

Encourage a mother to believe in herself, study, and fulfill her dream of becoming a US citizen—and in the process, be an example for her young son so he knows he can do anything he sets his mind to

Together with your support, we have helped many people find light in their darkest moments.

But unfortunately, our community has not made it to the other side yet.

This week, more people will line up at our CPLC Community Center seeking food assistance. Tomorrow, a survivor of domestic violence will show up at our doorstep, asking for refuge. And tonight, a teen girl might finally decide to ask for help with her mental health.

And in each of these instances, we will show up.

Because that’s what we do. That’s who we are. Community shows up for each other.

We won’t leave a family with nothing to eat. We won’t close our doors to someone fleeing from danger. We won’t leave someone to battle her mind on her own.

When a family or individual in our community asks for help, we listen and respond.

But we can’t do this on our own.

That’s why this holiday season, as you’re finalizing your Christmas shopping lists and planning to host family or what dish you will bring to the potluck, I would like to ask you for your help.

Would you consider making our holidays with a donation?

Your support goes a long way in helping people in our community.

With your help, we can feed a family at our CPLC Community Center. We can buy new shoes for the young son of a woman escaping domestic violence at CPLC De Colores. We can offer a teen girl free therapy sessions at CPLC Centro de la Familia.

And when you help in these ways, you give our community another reason to hope. To keep pushing even when the sun left long ago. To keep dreaming that tomorrow will be better, after all.

And it will.

With you by our side, I have no doubt that the sun will come out tomorrow and shine on us once again.

P.S. Your gift is eligible for the Arizona Tax Credit for Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCO) of up to $495 for people who are single, married and filing separately, or the head of the household; or $987 for people who are married and filing jointly. This means a gift of $495 to CPLC can reduce your state tax liability by $495.
