Adult Education

CPLC's Adult Education services provide access to quality educational opportunities to support employment, job training, and transitioning to post-secondary education. Adult learners will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully function at work, community, and society.

Services include Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), Computer Skills, and linkage to other CPLC Workforce Development services that connect adults to high-quality careers with opportunities for growth.

Upcoming Classes

Spring Adult ESL Classes, $100 for 16 weeks, registration includes pre/post test, class materials and tutoring.

Two sessions available, Thursdays or Saturdays, 10:00AM-12:00PM. Instructors courtesy of the Franciscan Renewal Center.

The CPLC Community Center

Our Adult Education courses are offered from the CPLC Community Center, a multi-generational community hub in the Carl Hayden neighborhood in Phoenix. A neighborhood landmark with its iconic mural, this center provides critical safety-net resources to surrounding families and a safe space for all. As a part of the Family Empowerment of Programs, the learning center provides youth and adult programs that are FREE or low cost.

Services include:

  • Adult Education Classes such as GED and ESL in-person classes, all in Spanish
  • Family Assistance Services such as APS Utility Assistance, Funeral, Rental and COVID19 Pandemic referrals (as funds are available)
  • Access to general Community Resources and Referrals for individuals and families
  • Wi-Fi, Computer Lab and copy machine access
  • FREE Food Pantry access and monthly produce bag distribution
  • Harm Reduction and Prevention Services and Referrals thru our AHCCCS partnership
  • AHCCCS/SNAP application referrals and application processing
  • Community Gardening Projects

The CPLC Community Center also hosts an array of cultural events and activities for positive social development, wellness, mental health and community organization and engagement.
