Family Assistance Services

Chicanos Por La Causa provides vulnerable communities with emergency hardship services and referrals. Under the Terri Cruz Family Assistance Program, these emergency services include APS and SRP utility assistance, funeral assistance, food box referrals, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) eligibility assistance and AHCCCS (Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System) referrals, as well as pandemic COVID-19- related resources.

These services are contingent upon funding availability, income verification, and COVID-19 qualifying factors as applicable by state, federal, and grant requirements.

APS and SRP Utility Assistance

1. To request Utility Assistance, call the following number on a  Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday between 9AM–12PM or 2PM-4PM:(602) 805-1666. Calls are first come, first served. Have your APS / SRP account number ready.If you do not have your account number or info, you will be asked to call again once you are ready.

2. During the call, a prescreening will be conducted to determine your eligibility for an appointment. If deemed eligible, a list of documentation will be requested to confirm your eligibility, and an appointment will be set. We offer both telephone and in-person appointments, depending on location. Appointments are required; no walk-in services are available. You may walk in to set an appointment.

Notice Regarding APS & SRP Utility Assistance

We have exhausted APS funds and are no longer accepting new applicants.

As we finalize year-end resources, no new appointments will be scheduled at this time.

APS & SRP applications will reopen on February 3, 2025.

In the meantime, we encourage visitors to contact us for resources and referrals as we remain committed to supporting the community.
