Community Schools

CPLC Community Schools offer high school students a culturally-relevant learning environment that caters to each student’s individual needs.

We grow future leaders in our community by increasing educational achievement, graduation rates, civic participation, and college entrance and graduation. We are a non-profit charter holder for three charter high schools in Arizona.

We value community-focused education (CFE) and integrate the knowledge base of the local community into the learning environment through the following:

Use of the predominant language of the community
Teaching strategies contextualized in the perspective of those served
Curriculum which emphasizes the culture and values of the community
Celebration of the visual arts, legends, oral histories, and fundamental beliefs of the community
Strong community participation in school curriculum, planning, and operation
Use of social and political mores of the community.

Envision High School

Envision High School is an alternative school that provides opportunity youth with a safe and supportive learning environment. Students envision the endless possibilities for their future and are empowered to excel, change, and lead. At Envision, we offer college credit, the opportunity to earn extra credits and graduate early, interactive student-centered instruction, a personalized college and career portfolio, flexible learning & scheduling, sports programs, and credit recovery opportunities.

Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona

The only tuition-free single-gender high school in Arizona, Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona (GLAAZ) empowers young women to succeed as leaders in their classrooms, their communities, and their lives. Our mission is to provide young women an opportunity to achieve high school and college academic success simultaneously while nurturing self-confidence and developing leadership skills in an academically rigorous environment.

Toltecalli High School

Toltecalli High School is an alternative school serving the individualized needs of at-risk youth. Our mission is to graduate leaders responsible for their community who are academically prepared, empowered to make informed decision, and confident in their ability to succeed. We offer college credit, the opportunity to earn extra credits and graduate early, interactive student-centered instruction, a personalized college and career portfolio, flexible learning & scheduling, sports programs, and credit recovery opportunities.
