Safe kids. Strong families.

Parenting Education

CPLC Parenting Arizona and CPLC Parenting Nevada promote strong families by empowering parents with the skills and resources they need to raise healthy and successful children.

Through the Department of Child Safety, CPLC Parenting Arizona provides and connects at risk families to parent education, life skills training, and community resources.

Parenting Classes

We offer free parenting classes to parents and caregivers of children in Maricopa and Coconino counties. Classes are usually 5-12 sessions and include curricula such as Active Parenting and Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred.

Email ParentingAZworkshops@cplc.org to learn more or call (480) 491-2301 in Maricopa County or (928) 773-9133 in Coconino County.

Home Visitation

As a child’s first and most important teacher, parents receive the tools and techniques they need to help their children through our Parents as Teachers curriculum and monthly visits. This programming is available in Yuma, Sierra Vista, Globe, Hopi, Flagstaff, Winslow, the Navajo Reservation, and the Havasupai reservation through First Things First and MIECHV. Email ParentingAZ@cplc.org to learn more.

Family Resource Centers

Our programs in Coconino and Maricopa Counties are offered from our Family Resource Centers (FRC), which serve as a community hub where parents can connect with a community of families for weekly classes, social events, and holiday celebrations. Family Support Coordination

We provide comprehensive assistance and support for 90-120 days, whether to help you stay in your home, find employment, or work on your parenting skills. We assist with applications and follow up with agencies to ensure you get the support your family needs. From housing to kindergarten readiness, we've got the connections to help your family thrive! Offered in Cochise, Mohave, and La Paz counties, contact familysupport@cplc.org.

Sensory Screening

Screenings are conducted in a dark, quiet environment and take about 15 minutes per child. Each child is assessed to identify any vision or hearing challenges. If we identify any reason for concern, we will refer your child to a pediatrician or other specialist for further evaluation and treatment. For more information or to register contact happyhealthykids@cplc.org. Available only in Phoenix.

Drug Abuse Prevention for Teens

Using the Safety First curriculum, we cover topics surrounding teenage drug use and dependency that boost safe decision-making skills. Over six virtual sessions, children aged 11-18 learn valuable information about the risks and effects of drug use, and resources that can help if they are ever in need.
