CPLC offers a variety of services for low-income encore populations.
Chicanos Por La Causa provides a comprehensive senior housing and meal program, including a center‐based program that offers advocacy and case management services. Along with assisting its residents though supportive services, the CPLC Senior Services program also provides its clients with a “Meals on Wheels” program as well a Senior Center Based Meal Program.
“The activities help me learn so much personally, physically, and mentally. It helps me eat a balanced diet. I love the Zumba."”
The “Meals on Wheels” program is provided to Senior Adults ages 60 and older. The purpose of HDM meals is to increase or maintain the well-being and self-sufficiency of the elderly who are unable to prepare meals for themselves or leave their home to participate in congregate meals (see below). The program provides hot, nutritious meals prepared and delivered at home by the Senior Center located at Casa Primavera.
CPLC also offers congregate meals to low income Senior Adults ages 60+ who are residents at Casa De Primavera Senior Center. This program provides senior adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves or who prefer to eat in the company of others while eating a hot and nutritious meal. Meals are served from Monday – Friday 11:30am until 12:30pm.
The CPLC Health Aging Program has a Multipurpose Senior Center that fosters the social emotional, mental and physical well-being of eligible individuals (elderly community). We provided Health Promotion, Exercise, Social/Recreation, and Program Variety on a weekly basis.
