Imagine having a dream. Having talent. Having a good work ethic.

But despite it all, you lack an opportunity.

That’s the story of many current or aspiring college students across the nation.

Thirty years ago, our leaders founded the CPLC Scholarship Program to support the education of students in our community.

And last Friday, leaders in our community gathered for our annual CPLC Ronnie Lopez Scholarship Golf Tournament. The funds raised at this tournament support students at The University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, and Maricopa Community Colleges.

Our CPLC Scholars include students like Valeria, whose middle school art teacher inspired her to follow in the same path and inspire other students like her.

Or Katrina, whose childhood experience during her parents’ divorce showed her the power social workers have in shaping a child’s future.

And Alejandro, who is working to ensure all patients are adequately informed about their conditions and receive quality medical care—no matter what language they speak.

Each of these students has the talent, the motivation, and the courage they need to make their dreams come true. And most importantly, their dreams include making the world a brighter place for others.

So, when we pool our resources together to help one student unlock a college education, we are investing in the future of our community as a whole.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, like our presenting sponsor, Food City, Valeria, Katrina, and Alejandro can pursue their dreams.

We’d also like to thank our:

  • Ace Sponsors: Valley Toyota Dealers and Crescent Crown and their brands: Corona, Modelo, Tecate, Dos Equis, Heineken Coors Light, Miller Light, White Claw, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and Olé Tequila Paloma
  • Eagle Sponsors: HUB, Marsh McLellan
  • Birdie Sponsors: CopperPoint, Bar S foods, Cox, Sonora Farms, Tofel Dent

Your support transforms the life and future of a student, their family, and our community.
