Operation Santa Shares Holiday Cheer with CPLC Clients

7th Jan 2020

Chicanos Por La Causa was honored to join Operation Santa Claus for the first time this holiday season!

ABC15 and Sanderson Ford partnered for the 19th Annual Operation Santa Claus in collaboration with Walmart, UPS and other partners. The campaign launched with Stuff the Sleigh, a one-day event where 23 CPLC volunteers and staff participated as part of the outreach donation collection at 48 Walmart stores across the Valley. We were thrilled to see the generosity of the people of Arizona—Volunteers helped collect a total of 96 boxes of toys and food in one day!

Volunteers also supported ABC15’s Annual Claus-A-Thon that raised more than $600,000 for the five participating nonprofits.

The campaigned that ran from 11/14 to 12/18 raised much needed funding to help support CPLC Community Center with facility improvements including security improvements and other technology updates. In addition, two trucks loads full of toys and clothes arrived at the center just in time for their annual Christmas Celebration. Our staff and volunteers was able to give out brand new toys to 350 kids and enjoy a beautiful holiday celebration with their families.

We are thankful to Sanderson Ford, ABC15 and Walmart for the opportunity to be part of this amazing effort along with such impactful organizations as St. Mary’s Food Bank, SARRC, Military Assistance Mission and Special Olympics.
