Birds are chirping. The saguaros are blooming. And the weather is getting hotter.

All around us, there are signs of new life.

And as we celebrate this season of rebirth and renewal, I’m excited to share that we have just published our latest Annual Report, which includes a collection of our favorite memories in community.

I invite you scroll through the report and relive these special moments with us. You can also find our annual reports for previous years at https://cplc.org/annual-report.

Our Annual Report gathers our favorite memories from the past year—like the time we celebrated Carla’s 100th birthday at our CPLC Casa de Primavera, our residential senior center. You can see the matriarch of five generations posing with her family on page 4.

This year, we also celebrated a new mural at our CPLC Domestic Violence Shelter created by local Xicana artist La Morena. When we unveiled the mural, it was so moving to see the awe in the eyes of the children and their moms.

For a survivor of domestic violence or sexual assault, I can’t imagine the pride and hope they must have felt to see the powerful women La Morena captured in her art. You can read more about that story on page 10.

And one of the moments that always brings a tear to my eyes is that of our Palomino affordable housing neighborhood. About a year ago, a devastating fire set back much of the progress we’d made on construction. Thankfully, the Phoenix Fire Department arrived in time to save what they could and prevent injury to anyone.

When we came together recently to celebrate the second groundbreaking for these affordable housing units, you could feel the strong sense of unity and community pride. Take a look at our leaders breaking ground on page 7.

As we look back through these memories, I am so grateful for the community we have cultivated together. Thanks to supporters like you, we can bounce back stronger and continue empowering the families and individuals next door.

Desde La Raíz, thank you for your enduring support of our communities.

Saludos,
