CPLC Community Center Re-starts English Courses after Hiatus due to COVID

12th Aug 2021

While the United States does not have an official language, English continues to predominate nearly all aspects of life, from education to work to our legal system. As such, a basic understanding of English is a huge leg up in our society, and individuals living in the United States who do not speak English face many barriers.

That’s why Chicanos Por La Causa offers affordable English classes at our Community Center near 35th Avenue in Phoenix. These courses can be life-changing, opening doors and providing empowerment through language.

And after a year of hiatus due to COVID, we are pleased to announce that our English classes are now available in-person again.

One student, Berta, has been studying English at CPLC for more than a year and is very pleased with her experience: “The teacher is excellent. My goal is to learn English well, then study nursing.”

English courses are offered in two levels: Level one meets Wednesdays from 4-5:30pm; level two meets Thursdays from 9-10:30am.

So many come to the United States to better their lives and better the lives of their children. English is an important step to help that dream become reality.
