A special teacher is an important and lasting influence in a child’s life. Teachers unlock the minds of our children and provide the essential foundation needed to become successful members of the community. Recognizing this important work, CPLC honors this group of “unsung heroes.” Using the Spanish term Esperanza for “hope,” this prestigious dinner and award ceremony was created to recognize outstanding Latino teachers, who are the hope for future and successful generations.  The Esperanza Latino Teacher Awards continue to remain the only awards program in Arizona established specifically to honor Latino teachers.
